Understanding Farmers’ Intentions to Adopt Organic Farming in Albania

Organic agriculture in Europe is expanding, yet still the early stages less developed areas of Europe. Understanding factors converting to organic a key component for both policy design and attaining effective support sector from government, donors, or private sector. Therefore, study attempts explore determinant farmers’ intentions engage farming based on primary data collected through farm survey Albania. Results show that subjective norms, perceived behavior control, favorable attitudes toward conversion, as well awareness risk conventional accompanied with information are positively associated probability farming. Farmers’ perceptions EU opportunities towards environment protection negatively tendency convert. The findings call use financial non-financial instruments supporting conversion increased costs expected integration into single market.
